The Ashley X Treatment - Help Scope (the cerebral palsy charity) defend disabled children's rights
Ashley X is the American child who received radical medical and surgical treatment to prevent her from growing to adulthood.Often families of disabled children do not receive the vital funding and support they need to ensure that they and their disabled child are not disadvantaged. Without such assistance, drastic action can be thought to be necessary either by the family or by others which directly, profoundly and permanently contravenes the Human Rights of the individual concerned.
Scope (the charity for cerebral palsy sufferers) believes our society must adapt to the needs of all children, disabled and non-disabled alike and demands that the government provides appropriate and adequate support to disabled people and their families. We entirely agree.
If you agree, we urge you to add your voice to Scope's campaign to defend disabled children's human rights.
